Dryer Vent Cleaning

Dryer Vent Cleaning Las Vegas

Dryer vent cleaning is often overlooked, but that can lead to many issues down the line. Did you know that dryer fires are one of the top causes of home fires in the USA? Any dryer vent that isn’t cleaned is at risk for damage, and more importantly, a fire that can lead to hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage and home loss.

While a majority of people will clean their lint tray after using their dryer, not as many people know about dryer vent cleaning. The dryer vent is a special vent which takes up any exhaust that the machine generates. This vent is highly regulated, and many states have codes and regulations to make sure that they are properly setup and working. Any lint that makes it past the lint tray, or “lint trap” as some people call it, will begin to accumulate in the vent over-time. Eventually, the accumulation of lint will lead to a fully clogged dryer vent that begins to overheat.

If you haven’t hired a professional cleaning company to inspect and clean your dryer vent at least once a year, then you might be experiencing the symptoms of a clogged vent. If your clothes are taking longer than usual to dry, it may indicate that the vent is clogged and not pulling out as much exhaust as it should be. Another tall-tale sign of a clog is clothes which are hotter than normal when the dryer cycle is complete. This can be caused by an accumulation of heat in the machine that is no longer able to escape the vent as easily.

In the event that the flapper on the vent hood doesn’t open when the dryer is on, you should give us a call immediately. This is more than often caused by a clogged dryer vent. And if your dryer is shutting off before a cycle is complete, this is another symptom indicative of such an issue. Some dryers have a safety mechanism built in which forces them to shut off if too high of a temperature is reached. It’s always best to be proactive about important things such as keeping dryer vents clear. If any of these symptoms continue to pop up, it’s recommended to look into them rather than let them build up and grow into bigger problems.

The Benefits of Having Your Dryer Vent Inspected

At A and Z Indoor Care, our certified technicians are highly trained in inspecting and cleaning all types of dryer vents. The benefits of having your vents cleaned by a professional are numerous. For starters, you will save money in energy bills. A clogged dryer vent will make it harder on your machine to work, and overtime a lot of money will be lost on a cycle which could be more efficient. Furthermore, you will save money in the long-run by not having to replace a broken dryer, or worse, having to cover the costs of a house fire.

If your dryer has any of the following symptoms, give us a call as soon as possible:

  • Debris covering supply vent or return vent covers
  • Dark marks around the wall, ceiling, or carpet that is close to the dryer vent
  • An unusually high amount of dust near the dryer
  • Water damage or damaged ductwork (this could lead to a clog or blocking of vents, as well as mildew growth)
